The kids took part in an important ELA lesson this morning. The fifth graders undertook the first part of their end of unit assessment. This entailed having the kids read an excerpt from our anchor text and then using a graphic organizer to begin to formulate an essay that spoke to the importance of sensory language. This dovetails nicely with the work that we have been focused on in the last two weeks. The kids remained on task throughout this session and many were able to completely finish their organizer. We will look to have each of the fifth graders begin the writing phase tomorrow morning.
