9/18/15

As we wrapped up our second week together, students continued their strong start to the school year. The fifth grade took the lead today during math class. Members of rooms 312 and 310 helped to teach  their counterparts in fourth grade the rules of a math activity that concerned factors. The fifth graders set a good example and the activity proved quite the success.

Fifth graders also put on their detective hats in social studies. We spent time today looking at the historic discovery of the Kennewick Man. This skeleton has changed the way scientists have come to view the earliest inhabitants of the North American continent. I look forward to continuing this lesson next week.

I have also enjoyed getting to read my students work on the class blog. There is serious writing talent on display. I would like to remind students that if they did not complete their post, there is still time to get credit. If the post has been made by tonight, students will receive credit for completing the assignment.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will see students back in school on Monday
