10/5/17

Some of the fifth grade writers have begun to undertake their first draft of their opinion writing paper. I enjoyed getting to check in with writers as they put the finishing touches on their graphic organizers. As we make our way into next week, I would expect more of the students to progress to this next step on the road to publishing their pieces.

Later in the school day, the students worked to use a sun trackers outside to mark the passage of the sun throughout the course of the school day.

The fifth graders also received paperwork concerning the fifth grade trip to science camp in early December. There are a number of forms that need to be signed and returned to school as well as information for parents at home. In addition, the fifth grade team is on the look out for chaperones to stay over different days down at the Alton Jones camp.
