2/4/15

It was nice to finally begin the month of February with my class. Students quickly shook of the rust of another long weekend in math class. Room 312 began a lesson in which they multiplied fractions by fractions. While working on this material, the class was attempting to notice any patterns in our problems. This work will continue into tomorrow.

In social studies, the class put the finishing touches on their very own Mayflower Compacts. Students have been tasked with coming up with some rules and regulations that they would want to live by if they landed on their very own island. Students also did a nice job of sharing their work with the rest of their classmates.

During our ELA block today, the class continued their work with our opinion writing unit. I finished my first round of writer's conferences and students continued to work on their first draft of their papers. Our goal is to have all first drafts complete by the end of this week.
